The ultimate Lombok wave map

Lombok is full of hidden treasures and beautiful spots that will blow your mind. We’ve mapped out some of our favourite surf sports so that you can explore and find the hidden secrets this magical place has to offer.

 

Air Guling

There are two waves, a left and a right break. The right has a steep inside section. The left breaks over a shallow reef. These waves are fun and suitable for intermediate surfers.

 

Desert Point

This incredible wave is one of the best left-handed barrels on the planet, only for advanced surfers. A mighty sight to behold.

 

Belongas

A shielded reef break with pretty consistent surf, not very crowded and working at all tides.

 

Mawi

Very consistent in the dry season (March-November). South East and east winds are offshore, creating a fun
hollow wave. There’s a right and left wave. Both waves can be challenging and steep on big swells.

 

Gerupuk Outside Right

This wave consists of two distinct take off spots that are exposed. It works best at high tide. The wave has a steep take off followed by steep walls that can form barrels.

 

Gerupuk Outside Left

The steep wave that can break left and right on a sharp reef. On good conditions, it tends to barrel. Recommended for intermediate or advanced surfers.

 

Don Don

A friendly a-frame that’s perfect for beginners. Can be crowded, but still incredibly fun. Works best on big swells.

Selong Belanak

The perfect beach break for first-timers. This break is consistent all year round and can provide the perfect waves to get used to surfing.

 

Seger

A challenging exposed spot that can be incredibly fun on a small swell. There are left and right-hand break that runs over a sharp reef.

 

Tanjung Ann

A friendly a-frame that can be perfect for beginners on a medium swell. It can start barelling on a big swell. Perfect for longboarding.

 

Gerupuk Right

A friendly wave that’s perfect for beginners. Easy take off with a fast section that’s very forgiving. Quite crowded.

 

Ekas Outside

Steep, hollow and exposed. Best at high tide with a decent South East swell.

 

Ekas Inside

Perfect for beginners and intermediates. On low tide, the wave tends to break to the left and right. The wave is mellow and can have big walls on a decent swell.
